THE METHODOLOGY

1. Footwork
We build leg strength, balance, and speed with agility ladder drills, then layer in movement from stance. Fundemental footwork and styles like Soviet-style boxing and Muay Thai checks and more.

2. Striking Mechanics
Kickboxing strikes draw power from the whole body, not just one limb. I break down hip rotation, leverage, and timing across punches, kicks, knees and elbows so every strike lands clean without leaving you exposed.

3. Defense
Kickboxing isn't just about hitting. It's about not getting hit. Learn checks, dutch blocks, slips, and parries while training the focus to read strikes coming from every angle, not just punches.

WHAT A SESSION LOOKS LIKE
1. Introductions
The first few minutes are about getting you comfortable. We’ll meet at the door, show you the training space, have you sign a quick waiver, and talk through your goals for kickboxing and fitness. If you have a playlist you love, we’ll get it playing so the session already feels like yours.
2. Warmup
We start by loosening everything up with dynamic stretches. From there, beginners learn your stance and core strikes. The jab, cross, hook, uppercut, body kick, switch kick, knees and elbows. All with clear coaching on form and balance. Then you’ll move into one of several warmup drills including agility ladder drills, medicine ball work, resistant band drills, kickboxing footwork drills, or shadow boxing.
3. Bagwork
Bagwork is where everything starts to click. we’ll use these the same strikes performed in the warmup but build combinations based on volume and defensive movement. Expect a mix of speed drills, tempo-based rounds, power-generation work, and reaction drills that keep you sharp and fully engaged.
4. Padwork
Padwork takes what you’ve learned on the bag and makes it realistic. We’ll run the same combinations, but with sharper tempo, more movement, and live feedback. Depending on your skill level, we’ll dial up the focus on footwork, speed, reactions, and counters. A client favorite here is the call‑and‑react drill, where you respond in real time to my cues for both offense and defense.
