Questions before booking? Call or text (917) 232-4977
1. How much does private kickboxing or boxing training cost?
Private 1-hour sessions are $60 for both kickboxing and boxing. Head to the Train In Person page to book, or reach out with any questions.
2. Can I try a session before committing?
Yes — your first session includes loaner gloves so there's zero gear needed to get started. Reach out to book your trial session today.
3. What's the difference between kickboxing and boxing training?
Boxing focuses on punches and footwork; kickboxing adds kicks, knees, and clinch work into the mix. Sessions are tailored to your goals — whether that's pure boxing fundamentals, kickboxing, or a blend of both — so you don't have to choose before you start.
4. Is this suitable for total beginners?
Absolutely. Our private coaching structure is designed to take you from day-one basics to advanced striking at your own pace. No previous martial arts experience is required.
5. Is boxing or kickboxing safe if I'm out of shape or have never trained before?
Yes. Every session is built around where you're actually starting from, not where you think you should be. You won't be thrown into sparring or high-intensity drills on day one — we build stance, footwork, and basic mechanics first, and the pace adjusts to your fitness level as we go.
6. Do you offer session packages or discounts?
Yes, multi-session packages are available. Packages are sold at a lower cost per session compared to a single session and a good option if you want to commit to a regular training block. Packages are arranged directly with me rather than through the online calendar; payment is taken electronically or in cash at the time of purchase. Reach out to set one up.
7. Do you offer partner or small-group sessions?
Yes — partner and small-group training is available (1-4 people). Reach out to discuss group size, pricing, and scheduling. Note that every participant needs to sign their own waiver before training, regardless of who books the session.
8. Where do training sessions take place?
Sessions are held at a private home-based training space in South Orange, NJ.
9. Do you train clients outside South Orange?
Yes — clients regularly train with me and travel from Maplewood, Millburn, West Orange, and Livingston.
10. What should I wear to my first session?
Wear comfortable athletic gear that allows for full range of motion. Cross-training shoes or going barefoot is recommended for our mats. Don't forget a water bottle.
11. Do I need my own gloves and handwraps?
For your trial session, we can provide loaner gloves. However, for hygiene and performance, students are expected to have their own hand wraps if needed.
12. What's your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
Sessions are reserved specifically for you. Cancellations, rescheduling, and no-shows are charged the full session fee, and this charge is non-refundable. We'll waive the fee and reschedule at no charge if it's due to illness, severe weather, or another circumstance genuinely beyond your control, like a family emergency. This exception is for occasional, genuine circumstances — a repeated pattern may mean future sessions require full payment regardless of notice given.
